“My dear fellow,” said Sherlock Holmes as we sat on either side of the fire in his
lodgings at Baker Street, “life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of
man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere
commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over
this great city, gently remove the roofs, and peep in at the queer things which are
going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful
chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outré results, it
would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale
and unprofitable.”

The idea of an all-day bar is quite simple but oftentimes difficult to attain. It is the creation of a nice and cozy space that mixes a friendly atmosphere with good-quality drinks and tasty grabs. No frills. Simple in theory. That is what we want to achieve here and create a hang-out spot where everyone is welcome and comfortable. Most importantly the aim here is to introduce people to fine drinking and award-winning indie brands and turn people’s attention to the quality of alcohol rather than just drinking for the sake of it. My experience behind bars and participating in competitions have made me “get” the importance of good first ingredients and balance in taste. Each person has a story to tell-so does each drink. I customize drinks for the person I see in front of me. You can say it’s a bespoke service. I also craved for a space that inspires people to have rounds of drinks and have a laugh with their mates after work, or on their Saturday afternoon or evening. Anytime is a good time for a little pick-me-up. For Sherlock’s Home I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the building is sort of hidden from plain sight and create a small green area that is secluded. A hidden garden, an oasis from the noise but in the heart of the city. Good drinks need good food and we are proud of our menu and chefs. Our dishes are delicious and make for a good combination of our drinks and cocktails. It is all about fun and the love of good taste.

I really love the notion of bar food. It used to be limited to snacks and greasy grubs but now it has been elevated to another level globally. Nowadays, great food is found in good bars and it is a trend. We wanted to combine high-quality ingredients with classic street food recipes and good execution as well as dishes for sharing- like bar tapas. We try to source most of our ingredients locally. Bar food is hearty, comforting and is often seen as unhealthy-which is a misconception. Processed food is unhealthy. We prepare everything fresh from scratch. From our beef patties to our thin-cut onion rings the concept is to serve delicious classic bar food recipes made freshly. The menu incorporates all-time favorites such as burgers, quesadillas, fish and chips as well as lighter meals such as salads and Asian-style salmon. Also, sharing is caring so I incorporated a few really delicious small plates to share. It’s always cool to share with friends and that’s what Sherlock’s is about. Having fun with friends
